Difference between DMADV and DMAIC

DMADV also called as DFSS (design for six sigma) is the six sigma methodology used for designing the the new product or process. It has the following phases : Define, Measure, Analyze, Design , Varify.

On the other hand, DMAIC is used for improving existing process or redesigning the existing products. It has the following phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve , Control.
